Well just as I was debating my next blog topic (dog training or take control of your health) Sunny Obama decided for me by biting a white house guest. See for yourself:
So I have a couple of comments/concerns. First, I was concerned about the girl wondering who failed to teach her about proper etiquette around dogs and letting her put her face that close until I read more and discovered she is 18 years old! Then I was concerned that Sunny would come to harm for behaving like a dog around dumb people. But porties don’t face the kind of backlash many other dogs face. (evidence of more dumb people!) And I wondered how much training was involved. Turns out Sunny had plenty of professional handlers but probably not the level I would have preferred. There’s just a deeper level of communication between the dog and the family when the family is involved in the training process. I’m certain the dog gave plenty of signals saying she was uncomfortable but I doubt anyone was listening. Her whole life is packing up this week so this is not surprising. Just ask Barney Bush about the trouble he had adjusting to his move 8 years ago:
So this was entirely preventable. Its too bad she could end up with a scar on her face. I feel more sorry for her attitude spewing hate toward a pet dog (according to her snapchat caption.) No, you’re not entitled to get in the dog’s face and then throw a tantrum when reality doesn’t line up with your expectations.
This entire situation looks rather emblematic of the whole Obama family’s reality. I suspect that if they understood Sunny’s body language signaling her discomfort they could have responded appropriately by protecting her from feeling overwhelmed. Likewise, the american people have been giving signals of their discomfort and were loudly ignored. I hope this girl lets the wound heal cleanly since picking at it will likely make the scar worse. Like the scars in our country. Too bad the democrats can’t stop obsessively picking at our wounds.
