I’ve been contemplating for a while getting film clips or producing my dog training methods but between the equipment and personnel costs and the fact that I can’t really manage the actual training anymore it just seems more cost-effective to find some really good trainers on YouTube. The one channel I’ve found that is closest to what I would like to make and how I actually trained my service dog Saya is Zak George’s Dog Training rEvolution. Here’s a video I saw yesterday:
Did you catch this near the beginning:
“Teaching your dog isn’t about the tools you’re using but the connection you’re growing.”
This is why I recommend Zak’s videos. This is my philosophy of education for dog
trainers owners. After all, if you own a pet and want to get the best behavior you’ll also want to deepen your relationship with them. It’s kind of a natural extension of my homeschool philosophy and as a parent you would never dream of NOT educating your children but somehow most pets go through life with little or no education for what we expect or desire them to do (or not).
So I encourage anyone reading my blog for dog training advice to go search Zak’s channel for help with any issue. I’ll still blog about modern training methods and concepts but for videos I’m enjoying seeing the variety of topics Zak has already covered!
